Here we go guys, spread the news to racers of all mods, SimPro Racing presents the Knoxville Nationals. The format is finalized and is posted below. Donations will be needed to provide some prizes, and a live broadcast by OLR TV. This would be a great opportunity to promote your league while sponsoring this major event. We are expecting to have three nights of action packed, three wide racing on the famed dirt oval of Knoxville Raceway, where it all comes to an action-packed finale where only the strong will survive. Will we see a driver make an alphabet soup run or will it be a driver starting at the front of the field taking the home the prize? Only way your going to find out is to be part of the 1st Annual SimPro Knoxville Nationals.
Dates
August 7-10, 2011
***3 nights of qualifying***
Only ONE qualifying night per driver (driver only needs to show for one qualifying night and the main event night). If for some reason, you need to placed on a certain night during the event, we will try to accommodate you, but we will not guarantee that it will work out. Also, we will NOT be doing any skin packs for this event.
Qualifying Day's Format (Sunday thru Tuesday)
Private Qualifying with the top 12 inverted for heats
10 Lap Heats
25 Lap A Main
15 Lap B Main
• Top 4 finishers in each qualifying night A feature will be locked in to Wednesday's A Feature.
• Top 6 non qualifiers after all three qualifying nights in passing points will be locked in as well.
• Real names only (for broadcast purposes)
***You DO collect passing points for qualifying. Pole winner receives 50 passing points and decreases 2 points down through 10th where it switches to 1 point drop for each spot further down. You will be collecting points every time you are on the track with exception of practice. Those that make the A will receive points for there performance in the A only. The points are weighted for each race, more points awarded in the A vs. the heats.***
Wednesday's Format
30 Lap A Main 24 cars start
22 Lap B Main - 20 cars start, top 6 transfer
15 Lap C Main - up to 20 cars start, top 4 transfer
12 Lap D Main - up to 20 cars start, top 2 transfer
10 Lap E Main - up to 20 cars start, top 2 transfer
Any other main needed will be 8 laps with top 2 transferring to the next event
We will run a scramble where the top 16 locked-in drivers from the qualifying nights will compete for starting position for the A. The 8 inside row guys will line up for a short 6 lap race and the same will happen for the guys on the outside row. We are also considering running a World Challenge race but this will depend on time and the amount of broadcast air time we have. Also, depending on time, we will do a 4-wide parade lap for the broadcast.
We are still undecided on starting time, and will get that settled shortly. We aim to get a registration page in place shortly as well, but the registration deadline will be August 1st, 2011. Until our registration page is ready on the main site, I have started a forum for the Nationals, so that we may get driver info, and gauge the number of people showing up to the event. You will only have to register once, we will take care of the pre-registrants once the page on our site is ready. Everyone who registers will receive a copy of the SimPro Sprint Car Rulebook, and other general information and updates of this event.
