article from www.amcanationals.comLatest News - AMCA Nationals Farrer Fastest For South Aussie 1 29/04/2011 4:53:46 PM ... Paris Charles Article From AMCA Nationals - www.amcanationals.comMildura’s Timmis Speedway roared into life for the Easter long weekend on Good Friday when the venue played host to the 2011 South Australian AMCA Nationals state championship and with an impressive fourty two cars nominated the fans on hand were treated to an old fashioned knock’em down and drag’em out affair as the field fought fiercely yet fairly in the quest for the South Australian Championship. In a race that suffered several casualties throughout the reigning Australia #2 Brenton Farrer held on to add the South Australian Championship to his already impressive race CV. Following Farrer to the waving chequered flag was fellow Victorian Paul Forrest and Queensland’s well travelled Matt Hardy to round out the podium. The Victorian competitors dominated with five of the top six finishing positions as Rick Clark, Mick Jackson and Tim Reidy filled the next three positions. Steve Letts was the only South Australian to finish the gruelling event in seventh and the finishers were rounded out by Victorian’s Grant Cullinger and Campbell Hughes, who was running at the front early in the race. Other notable mentions must go to Darren McCarthy who won the B-Main; moved from seventeenth to eight before retiring with a broken axel with only a few laps remaining and also David Hartman who led the race for a brief part before succumbing to accidental contact with Tim Reidy just as his tyre blew coming into turn one. Reidy was sent to the rear while Hartman retired to the infield to join Jamie Collins, Cory Fox, Nick Stubbs, Wayne Vickers, Mark Lincoln, Russ Hardy, Angelo Halacs, Keith Ebbs and Danny Prade who all failed to go the 30 lap journey.
