Dale Grotherr wins GYB Finale but alex johnson takes the GYB Title by 2
Dale and Jeremy grotherr stole the show in the final round of the AAA Tilt Tray mini series as round 10 of the 2010 gyb league was run and won at the famed eldora speedway
Both started on the front row in last night 40 lap feature with gyb snowcone and Plugger sitting right behind.
The platform was set for a classic feature after Alex Johnson had problems in time trials and both his heats. Alex had to do it the hard way from position 15 in the feature while Dale had a clear track. It was clear that alex needed to finish 8th or better to take the title.
In another battle for the top 3 in overall points saw Belky and XMan fight it out. Belky would hold the advantage in the meeting after engine problems held XMan back from making a charge.
Time trails saw belky set the quick time on the high banked half mile in a respectable 13.168. Jeremy stopped the clock with the second quickest time and last to quailfy GYB stav set the 3rd fastest time of the night. Snowcone was 4th while rounding out the top 5 was nz competitor PetrolHead.
Making a return to the sence for the final round was GYB Whippy who was 14th fastest.
Heat 1 saw Snowcone battle with belky into turn 1 before using the well formed cushion to his advantage to pass belky. Going into turn 1 the next time by Dale made the pass for second. As a 3 way battle would the continue over the next 8 laps but it was snowcone who held out Dale and belky in that order.
Heat 2 saw a dominate drive by Jeremy grotherr who got the jump over petrolhead. Clayman made his way quickly to 3rd as petrolhead fell back down the order. The race would become single file and it was Plugger and clayman who took the minors
Heat 3 saw Gyb Stav continue his good time trial with a nice victory over Karl with Danny Vassall coming home third. Stav Cleared out as a good battle happen for the minors
Heat 4 saw Dingo take the heat victory. The Start saw Claude miss the jump which allowed a better run for the slowler guys. Alex Johnson passed snowcone before the start which sent him rear of field. Snowcone then made and mistake after jumping the cushion and spinning out. Belky tagged the baxkstraight wall but Dale grotherr had to settle for second after trying to catch dingo. Dingo on the final corner made a mistake and nearly flipped but held on. Third was Claude.
Heat 5 saw Plugger beat whippy out of turn 2 after the pair went charging into turn 1. Petrolhead would then pass whippy as whippy flipped out of 2nd place. Unware of the happens clayman also made a mistake and crashed in the early stages. Jeremy then made the pass on petrolhead. And that's the way it would finish.
Heat 6 saw Danny vassall take the victory over turbo and cdr coming home third. A wild flip saw Karl crash out.
B-Main saw turbo led home some of the top contendedrs. Using the bottom work Turbo led home clayman , alex johnson and ledge. Missing the field were Mitch keys, Claude and whippy
The dash was another battle with snowcone getting some help after stav, Plugger and Danny vassall all had problems.
As the amain got going it was Alex was on the charge with dingo also sitting on the tail of Plugger. Alex would make it to 6th place by lap 10 and the race as wild mid pack.
Alex however made enough spots to hold the title but it was an awesome effort by Dale.

In total 41 driver compete in at least 1 meeting and the points battle was close all the way through.
