Grotherr show as father and son dominate round 9 of GYB Series
Dale and Jeremy grotherr stole the show in round 2 of the AAA Tilt Tray Tri Series and Round 9 of the 2010 GYB league was run and won at las Vegas motorspeedway.
After Dale and Jeremy showed the Americans how it's done in their own boz league event
Both started on the front row in last nights 40 lap feature and cruised to a 6 second victory over Belky who ran a solid 3rd place.
There was only 1 yellow on lap 3 of the feature, but it was the action for the minor placings was tight. Snowcone crawled his way back to 4th after a horrible start saw him drop back to 8th, while rounding out the top 5 was Ledge.
Time trails saw Snowcone set the Benchmark with an impressive 14.120 around the 1/2 mile.
Xman was second quick with a 14.122 until he car blew a motor as he crossed the line. OLO bulldog who made his first appearence this season was 3rd with a 14.146. Time trail gap was 0.623 over the 22 cars.
Heat 1 saw Snowcone battle with Jeremy grotherr for most of the heat race but snowcone held the led for the 10 lap journey with Jeremy in 2nd and Ledge coming home 3rd
Heat 2 saw a good battle between pole sitter Xman and Dale Grotherr . Dale made a wonderful moved on xman to take the victory with Belky making a late charge for second but Xman held on to take 2nd.
Heat 3 saw the best race of the series so far with the top 3 running so close that you only needed a queen size sheet to cover them over the journey. OLO Bulldog held out Alex Johnson and clayman in that order.
Heat 4 saw dingo get the jump and ran away with the win while the battle was in the back of the pack, with ledge, snowcone, and Jeremy Grotherr making there way through the field. Goodroot had a moment seeing snowcone jump on the brakes to miss him. Jeremy finished 2nd with Karl finished on the podium for the first time.
Heat 5 saw Dale come from position 7 to take the win. Petrolhead had he measure for most of the race till a late mistake saw him come home second. 3rd home was belky.
Heat 6 saw the sprintcar driver Danny vassall take his maiden gyb heat win over Plugger with a wonderful 3 car battle to settle third ending with clayman taking the spot.
B-Main saw turbo led for 10 of the 12 laps before petrolhead made the bottom work to make the pass on Turbo. Finishing in the transfer were Ash and Wayne from position 8.
Just before the B-Main - Karl who was schedule to start 1 in the B-Main was moved to the tail of the amain after OLOBulldog pulled out of the main.
Dash saw Dale pull away from Jeremy and snowcone. Light contact between Alex Johnson and snowcone occurred seeing them finish at the tail. Xman an belky moved to to 3rd and 4th.
Heading into the final round we see Alex Johnson led by 13 points. Alex sits on 294 with Dale grotherr next on 281. 3rd sees a tie between belky and xman on 275. Mitch keys who was the leader fell bad too 6th.
Last round is at Eldora speedway in 2 weeks. Question is will Dale win another feature and still finish 2nd in the title chase.
